Our collective efforts have been recognized, and we're thrilled to announce that ACTNOW has been accepted as part of the "Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters" Charter
This recognition means that our work is a key player in helping achieve the goals of Mission Ocean and Waters. We are committed to making a positive impact in one or more of these important areas:
Protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, just like the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030.
Stopping pollution in our oceans, seas, and waters, following the EU Action Plan Towards Zero Pollution for Air, Water, and Soil.
Making the sustainable blue economy carbon-neutral and circular, in line with the proposed European Climate Law and the Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy.
In addition to this, we committed to:
Supporting the EU Ocean knowledge system and making sure our knowledge and data are used fairly.
Getting our communities involved in decision-making.
Encouraging investments from both public and private sources.
Sharing what we know and working together with other Mission participants.
Keeping track of our progress and making changes as needed to reach our Mission goals.
Our project is already being showcased on a website dedicated to Mission Charter Actions, and it will be featured in Mission Ocean and Waters materials and tools. For ACTNOW, this is a great opportunity to spread the word and make a bigger impact. Moreover, we get the opportunity to participate in important Mission events and meetings.
We want to thank every member of the project consortium for being part of the Mission "Restore our ocean and waters by 2030"! Together we can make a real change and protect our precious marine and freshwater environments.
