This legal notice explains how the ACTNOW project uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website. ACTNOW follows the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.

What data do we collect?

 

The ACTNOW project website collects the following data: 

  • cookie data when you visit our website.

  • personally identifiable information (including name, email, and communications) when you register for events or our newsletter

 

How do we collect your data?

 

You directly provide the FutureMARES project with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you: 

  • register online for our newsletter

  • voluntarily complete a survey or provide feedback via email

  • use or view our website via your browser’s cookies

 

ACTNOW may also receive your data indirectly from the ACTNOW newsletter.

 

How will we use your data? 

 

ACTNOW collects your data so that we can: 

  • understand how people use our website so that we can make it more intuitive

  • email our newsletter to you

  • send you details of meetings and events

How do we store your data?

 

ACTNOW is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Your data may be stored through Wix’s data storage, databases and the general Wix applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

 

ACTNOW will keep newsletter-related information until the end of the project in 2027. Afterwards we will delete your data by deleting the newsletter mailing list.

 

What are your data protection rights?

 

ACTNOW would like to make sure you are aware of all of your data protection rights. 

 

Every user is entitled to the following:

 

  • The right to access – You have the right to request the FutureMARES project for copies of your personal data.

  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that the FutureMARES project correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request the FutureMARES project to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that the FutureMARES project erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that the FutureMARES project restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that the FutureMARES project transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

 

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please send us an email.
